Health & Safety: My Top Priority as a Newborn and Children’s Photographer

When it comes to photographing little ones, I know just how precious and delicate they are. As a mom and an experienced newborn and family photographer, I’ve seen firsthand how important it is to create a safe and healthy environment for every child who steps in front of my camera.

Your baby’s health and well-being are my top priorities, and I take several precautions to make sure that every session is as safe as possible. Here’s what you can expect when you book a session with me:

1. Rescheduling for Illness

If there’s one thing I take seriously, it’s germs! I would never knowingly expose your baby to illness. If I, or anyone in my household, shows even the slightest hint of being under the weather, I always reschedule sessions. I understand how important it is to avoid unnecessary risks—especially with newborns whose immune systems are still developing.

2. Experience in Pediatric Care

Before starting my photography business, I worked as a medical assistant in a pediatrician’s office. That experience gave me a strong understanding of childhood health, from how to prevent the spread of illness to recognizing signs of potential health risks. I’m very aware of the special care that babies need, and I bring that knowledge into every session.

3. Studio Cleanliness

Cleanliness is key in my studio. All blankets, wraps, props, and outfits are cleaned and sanitized between sessions. I use baby-safe, fragrance-free products to ensure nothing harmful comes into contact with your baby’s skin. High-touch areas and surfaces are also wiped down and disinfected before and after each session.

4. Hand Hygiene & Masks

I wash and sanitize my hands frequently throughout every session, especially when handling newborns. If you’re more comfortable with me wearing a mask during your session, just let me know—I’m happy to do so. I want you to feel at ease while I work with your little one.

5. Temperature Control

In my studio, I make sure the temperature is perfect for your baby’s comfort and safety, especially during newborn sessions. Babies tend to feel more at ease when they’re warm and cozy, and I always take care to keep the environment calm and comfortable.

6. Gentle Posing

Newborn posing is delicate work. I never force a baby into any position that could cause discomfort or harm. My approach is slow and gentle, and I follow your baby’s cues to make sure they are safe and happy throughout the session.

Your Peace of Mind Matters

As a mom myself, I understand the anxiety that can come with letting someone else handle your newborn or young child. I take my role very seriously, and your child’s safety is never compromised. My goal is for you to feel comfortable and confident during your session so you can relax and enjoy these special moments.

If you ever have any concerns or questions about health and safety, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here to provide not only beautiful images but also a safe and caring environment for your family.
